What is a medical escort?
A simple definition — and what an escort is not.
A medical escort is the accompaniment of a patient by a clinician during a journey, following a care plan defined in advance.
It is not a travel companion, and it is not a mobile intensive care unit either: the level of escort must match the level of care required.
